Long exposures are quite a bit of fun because you know a little bit of what you are going to get with it but sometimes it can surprise you. The new 2010 Ford Fusion is the car I used for this experiment, my gear I used was a Canon EOS 50D with a Vivitar 285HV speedlite and a Canon 580exII speedlite.

The first two shots were both 30 second exposures at f/14. I only used 1 speedlite (Vivitar 285hv) I had it at 16th power and ran around the car pointing the flash at parts of the car i wanted to highlight. It was quite fun and I got my exercise.

The next shot was at a 1/160 of a second at f/9 and I used 2 speedlites at about half power if i remember correctly. I used a Vivitar 285hv(side) and a Canon 580exII(front)

I would change a few ways of how I did these pictures, First for the long exposures I would have used a cable then lock it down (all I did before was used the cable but only put it on a 30 second exposure) that way I could get to all the spots I wanted to use the flash on, the recycle time on the speedlite made it difficult to get everywhere. The last picture I would have set up a 3rd speedlite and used it for a separation light. I had fun messing around with the speedlites and hope I get to do it again soon.
